Our Advantages
Location is at the heart of many advantages offered by LNG21’s West Delta LNG Export Deepwater Port:
- Our West Delta LNG Export Deepwater Port is located offshore Louisiana in 60 feet of water, sufficient draft to receive the largest LNG carriers, yet shallow enough for conventional, low-cost, fixed-structure design;
- The project is relatively close to shore reducing the cost of pipeline infrastructure and providing easy access… yet far enough to eliminate impact on property owners or wetlands, costly dredging, breakwaters, jetties and other infrastructure required by shore-based facilities;
- Situated near major natural gas production areas connected by multiple onshore interstate pipeline systems… making access to abundant and economical feedstock.
Design is another key advantage of our West Delta LNG Export Deepwater Port:
-
The project utilizes conventional proven fixed platforms in use in the Gulf of Mexico for several decades;
-
Engineering, quality assurance and supplier partners are industry stalwarts, including Wood, Baker Hughes, Siemens, Honeywell, and Poten;
-
LNG production and storage facilities with equipment primarily sourced from the United States will be fully assembled into modules at shipyards in Italy and China before being transported to the site and mounted on jackets using float-over installation;
-
Float-over installation reduces installation time and risk;
-
The conventional fixed platform will be built to ABS and Coast Guard 1,000-year-storm standards;
-
Modular design enables both scalability and repeatability.
-
Remote monitoring and control capabilities improve safety and expand the operational window.
